Deep-fried oddities

Like most people on this board, I saw today's NYT review of Mo Pitkin's, where one of the touted dishes is "deep-fried mac 'n' cheese" -- an enticing concept that I definitely want to try out. This got me thinking about other unusual deep-fried foods around town -- the fried ribs at R.U.B., for example, or the fried sweetbread poppers at Uovo. What other atypical deep-fried delights are lurking out there around NYC?
