First-date dining help

Malcolm | Mar 9, 2005 05:55 PM

Having a hard time pulling the trigger on a first-date dinner spot, so I've decided to go to the hounds. Here are the details:

We're both in our early thirties, both teachers, both food conscious (something truly delicious will be duly appreciated) without being hardcore about it (a mediocre meal would be a disappointment, but could be compensated for by a charming setting).

I live in Brooklyn, she lives uptown, so we've agree to meet in the villages. I'd like to go somewhere nice but not over the top -- which, in the crudest terms, means entrees shouldn't go much over $20.

I've had a few of thoughts: Lucien, Otto, Prune, Il Buco. This, however, is a pretty arbitrary selection --I haven't experiences any of these places firsthand, but I've heard good things about each.

I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!
