Apologies if this is old news but the really nice cart guy at the Wall & Broad St DM BBQ cart told me yesterday that more carts are definately on the way. He didn't specify locations but I got the impression they would be in Midtown. He also said that his son is the guy in the 39th St cart which, I didn't previously know.
We had a great chat and he also mentioned that the cart menus will be expanding to include ribs and chicken. BTW, we had discussed CT bakeries and he favors the buns at the Taipan.
Now on to my 1st time report:
It was around 3pm so I was afraid that my pickings would be slim. I opted for the brisket and my friend went for the chili.
I can't speak to the brisket to bread ratio as I only dressed my bun with about 1/2 the meat. (I had just come from CT where I had eaten umpteen egg tarts). I enjoyed the flavor.
At $8 I think it is a wee bit pricey but if I worked in the area I would be really happy for the option/change of pace. My friend really liked the chili and again, objectively speaking, at $6 it seems like the better value
Looking forward to seeing what these guys do next and where.
