cupid's hot dogs lament

As one who holds fond memories of Cupid's Hot Dogs from my freshman days at CSUN years back, I recently stopped into the one over by LAX for a quick bite. As dogs go, Cupid's always struck me as being about "middle-of-the-road" (Some places are better and many places are *definitely* worse). Had 2 plain dogs (with mustard) and a small coke. What zapped me was the cost. $6.65.

I mean, *wowie* These weren't the jumbo dogs either. Now I realize we live in inflationary times (and perhaps I'm waxing cheap) but when you break it down to over $5 for two tube-steak skinnies on a dry bun, I feel like I'm better off steaming up a couple of Boar's Head links at home. Just a rant, but...
