Stopped by the Creamery yesterday and couldn't resist the fudge brownies (baked on premises) WOW!! What an amazing burst of the deepest, richest chocolate flavor!! Creamy, center, nice sprinlikng of walnuts -- not overpowering, but the intensity of the chocolatyness was what floored me. I confess, I licked the saran wrap it came in!!
My worry though -- lots of great food at the Creamery -- wondeful baked goods, great prepared stuff, but when I was there yesterday, in 90 degree heat, with no discernible air conditioning on the premises, trays of prepared foods were out on top of the deli cases -- in one case a platter of baked chicken. They were clearly not just resting there until someone put them into t he refrigerated case -- they had signs on them and I could tell they had been sitting out for not an insignificant amount of time. I'm not particulalry squeamish about food handling, and I know it was cooked chicken, but...Ew... I did ask, as I was paying for my fabulous brownie, "Should that chicken be sitting out on a hot day like this?" and got kinda brushed off by the guy at the register.
I love the Creamery and want to keep going there, and don't want to flame them as I hear they are very nice people who do great things in the community, but has anyone ever gotten sick from food improperly stored there?
P.S. Did I mention how great the brownie was?
