Crosnes (Chinese Artichokes)

In my ongoing quest to raise edibles on my deck which the squirrels won't decimate I tried crosnes. Just after planting I had family drama call and was away for most of 5 months - so I wasn't able to keep them trimmed and have no idea if they bloomed!

I don't believe I've ever tasted crosnes. They just look so intriguing I had to plant them!

But hope runs eternal and I am dreaming of a nice harvest...

In case the gods are smiling on me I'd love to have some ideas of what others do with them.
