new crop rice?

I was at Ruen Pair a while ago and had a beautiful little shock when I tasted the white rice - it was new crop rice (a.k.a. "young rice"), prepared right. Hadn't had that in a while. My mom - who taught me everything I knew about tasting Asian foods, and who still makes fish better than almost any restaurant I know, and I have neutral judges agreeing with me on this - used to buy new crop long grain as soon as it came in and was exceedingly happy the first time I shot my head up, young me, and asked her why the rice was so much better. We ate it plain all the time. But I haven't been able, on my own, to run through enough rice at home to be able to buy a new bag for every new crop. And when I went back to R.P., it wasn't new crop anymore. And R.P. hasn't always served new crop rice when there was a new crop out.

Anybody know of any restaurant that consistently gets and serves really good rice, especially new crop? I forgot how much I loved it. I'm longing right now.
