Creme: Nice But Too Salty

Cornbread | Dec 13, 2005 09:19 PM

Here's my view on Creme, new to Logan Circle, at 13th and U. The drinks (Dark and Stormy and the Ten Lime) were inventive, tasty, and reasonably priced ($8). A great place to hang at the bar.

My wife started with the down homey chicken soup. Great broth and very tender vegetables, so much so that she was skeptical when I declared that I could cook the same at home.

But the entrees disappointed. The roast chicken, which looks to be the anchor on the menu, was too salty. At first I thought it was because they'd brined the chicken too much, because the wing and leg meat was tender and fell off the bone. But the breast was TOO DRY, so brining can't be the culprit. The burger was OK and the bun was oversized in comparison to the meat. Nice fat fries though.

I'll give it a second shot. Has anyone else experienced the place?
