A Couple of Updates for Writing a New Post

The Chowhound Team | Oct 11, 201704:39 PM

We have been tidying up the new-post creation page in preparation for upcoming map-related features.

Today you will notice the following aesthetic changes when writing a new post on both Desktop and Mobile.

— Selecting a community is now located at the top of the page.
— The option to display images as a Photo Story is now called "full width" because it better describes how the images will be shown in the post.

Adding location and/or topical tags is still the final step when creating a new post. Bear in mind that posts in the Restaurants & Bars, Markets & Stores, and Chain Restaurants communities will require a location tag to help Chowhound members and readers know what specific locale is being discussed.

These changes will allow us to soon give you more control over *all* the places displayed on a map that appears on a thread you've started in any of the communities listed above. You'll also soon have the ability to fully edit your new discussions—including adding, removing, or rearranging the order of the photos. (The window to edit your new thread will still be 24 hours for original posts and 2 hours for comments.) More info to come!

If you have any issues when creating a new post, let us know—we'll be happy to help.
