Couple days in Atlanta: Not-to-miss "modern Southern"? Korean? Sushi?

Liana Krissoff | May 16, 200511:26 AM

Going to the big city soon, from Gainesville, Florida, to which my husband and I just moved from NYC. Just thinking about the possibilities, and reading the postings here, I find myself craving so many kinds of food it’s all a little overwhelming. Please, please help me narrow down our choices. What’s your favorite sort-of-upscale Southern restaurant — Watershed, South City Kitchen, Mary Mac’s, or what? We’d also maybe like to splurge on some good sushi, or Korean. Recommendations for excellent Indian (à la the long-lost Mina in Queens), real Szechuan (à la Grand Szechuan Int’l in Manhattan), Indonesian or Malaysian or Trinidadian, Pueblan, non-batter-fried seafood, or anything completely unusual that we wouldn’t find within a hundred miles of the University of Florida would also be very much appreciated.
