Cooking with a white truffle

nandrew | Nov 12, 2009 11:46 PM

I'm planning to buy a white truffle from a local shop that imports them from Italy and use it for a special dinner for my s.o. Does anyone know if I can use a regular grater (Microplane or a box grater) instead of a special shaver to make the thin slices that many recipes recommend? I thought I would just cook up some fresh pasta and toss with melted butter and grated truffle, maybe some Parmigiano Reggiano.

Thanks! This is my first post.
