There are already several outposts of this Korean chain in socal, but they finally opened one up here late last year and I stopped by on Sunday morning.
They make little cakes filled with red bean pastry, the center of which is a walnut. There's a fascinating machine in the kitchen that takes batter and walnut and spits out the pastry.
It smells wonderful inside - like any place that's baking pastries, but especially like Beard Papa.
We got the "snack pack", which contains 9 pieces for $3.50. Each piece is individually wrapped, which unfortunately means they get a little soggy.
I found the red bean a bit too sweet, but there's a childish pleasure in finding and crunching the walnut. I actually think they taste better cold.
Same plaza as Palace BBQ, but in the other building.
