close-in DC: decent crabs, family-friendly environment

nummynummy | Jun 15, 201509:14 AM     7

My parents are coming to town and adore crabs. They're not at all squeamish about the process of eating crabs and the like, but are a little sensitive to cleanliness, noise, cursing, etc. Is someone able to give me a good idea of what the atmosphere at places like Quarterdeck or Captain Pell's is like? Or should I just stick to Bethesda Crab House?

I'd love to do a Cantler's or some other farther afield crab place closer to the shore but not sure the folks can handle drive PLUs long wait. Does anyone have experience with older folks at any of these places? Am open to going toward Annapolis etc but it must be someplace we can reserve.

Thanks in advance!
