Cleaning up a pan with brass handles?

Inox | Aug 30, 201901:47 PM     5

A big hey to all the fellow ookware enthusiasts out there! I just today bought a pan at a thrift store i'm almost sure is the same as the one in the page linked. If that's the case these handles are brass, and I noted some slight greenish chalky looking substance between the handle's where they join with the copper body of the cookware. doing a little research, i think it may be bronze disease. If what i read is correct, then it makes sense it would form in the tight space between handle and pan, because to form moisture, air, and chloride is necessary, all abundant in a kitchen enviroment. If this is bronze disease, should i just scrub it and try to remove as much as possible? how could i go about preventing further damage considering moisture and salt is abundant in kitchen use? if anyone else owns bronze handled cookware and has any tips it'd be much appreciated!
