Civic Center cravings for crunchy greens

Joy | Jul 11, 2005 08:24 PM

I've been working in the Civic Center for a few weeks now, and while I've had lots of good, cheap Vietnamese sandwiches and soup, I've been craving a good salad.

The cafeteria in the building I work in has a salad bar, but it's pretty dull -- your basic Big Bland Bowl of iceBerg lettuce and a few bowls of mostly canned vegetable-like products. I would love to find a salad bar place of the type that are all over the East Coast, usually run by Koreans for some reason, with lots of different lettuces and interesting things like palmitos and artichoke hearts and weird salads and even hot foods, too.

Do those even exist in the Bay Area? More importantly, do they exist near the Civic Center? And, failing that, is there any sort of halfway decent salad bar in this 'hood?
