I live in Brooklyn, and the only good thing about this borough is the huge variety of great places to eat. But let's talk about pizza.
I agree with most people here that Domonic makes the best pizza that I have ever eaten, but I'm wondering why the pizza I consider #2 is never mentioned on this board.
Ciccio's, on Ave U & West 5th St. in Brooklyn makes a number of unique pies that are all excelent. Their regular pie is the traditional thin crust Brooklyn variety, with sesame seeds on the crust. It is amazingly good. They also make Sophia Loren, Grandma, & L&B style squares among other specialty pies. As this is a down to earth, family owned neighborhood place (very Italian neighborhood), the service is quick & friendly. Even when they're busy, you don't wait very long. Speaking of L&B, it's only a few blocks away, so you can easily go there after for a spumoni. Also worth visiting after is the Italian espresso cafe next door to Ciccio's. Great espresso.
Is it possible that I am the first Hound to discover this classic, yet different, Brooklyn Pizza Place?
