Last Friday I went to a buffet lunch served at an Armenian church (St. Mary’s on Fessenden, NW) and had a terrific - and cheap - feast. Yummy rice pilaf and the tastiest grape leaves I ever had. Dishes were prepared by older church members who have probably been making/perfecting these dishes for many years - just my guess.
I know this Church does a fabulous dinner & lunch buffet (and bazaar) around Christmas time too
(with a broader variety of dishes since no Lent-meat restriction). Notice is usually posted in the
Washington Post’s food section (as this particular buffet was).
I’d love to hear about other similar events hounds may have attended or know about. I’m looking for something other than the usual pancake breakfasts & spaghetti dinners.
