In an atempt to get our whole family together for Christmas , we have rented a place in the South Congress area and will be ( sort of) cooking a Christmas dinner for family and possibly a group of friends. I have a couple of questions for you Austin experts as I enjoy our cooler weather and plan.
I will probably cook some --the main meat , which will probably be a standing rib roast. Maybe I will add a ham from our "stash" of farm raised pork that we gain by working at a CSA. I'll make mashed potatoes becausue there would be rebellion without them. I'd love to have help with the sides and , since I really can't bake, someplace that has really spectacular Christmas desserts to take out--particularly pies , but anything amazing.
And do the food trucks stay open in the winter too?
We have been to Austin before, but never in the winter. I'd love to have any Christmas suggestions about cozy restaurants or wonderful things to do. We will be there about a week.
