Chowing with the guide--Emeryville

Thanks Chowguide. In nearly-nothing-to-eat Emeryville, where I work every day, I now have two new options that had previously escaped my radar. Tried the Tacos Jerezanos truck on 40th and Horton and found the birria and the al pastor perfect. Although someone tell me why the birria is beef here. I thought it was always goat. Can’t wait to try the carnitas, which they were out of the day I went. I’ve got my chowish workmates hooked on the burritos and tacos. They grill the tortillas for the burritos! This is great because I thought I had to go all the way to International Blvd to get a great taco.

Also checked out Cantaros Taqueria 2 of off San Pablo. The fish tacos and carne asada tacos didn’t quite make me weep with joy, but they were pretty good and I will gladly go back. My dining companion loved her burrito. The bowl of guacamole we ordered was gigantic for the price and pretty good too. I’d driven by here on the way to Arizmendi, but it didn’t set off my chow alarm very loudly so I never stopped.
