I stopped by the Z Pizza in Silver Lake to pick up a sandwich for lunch today. I know their pizzas are average at best so I stayed away from that but they had an italian sub called "Supersub" served on a baguette. We all know good bread makes the sandwich and this was no exception. My goodness was that baguette delicious. I may have lucked out because my baguette had come out right out of the oven (fwiw, I don't think they bake the breads fresh in house but rather receive them par baked and finish it in the oven in house) but it may have been one of the best baguettes I've had in the city. The fillings in the sandwich weren't too shabby either with a mix of ham, pepperoni, salami and veggies.
It's an 8" sub and comes with a bag of traditional Lay's potato chips for $7.95 + tax.
This may be blasphemy around here, but I think I enjoyed it more than the Godmother.
