Chow opened in Lafayette's La Fiesta Square Dec. 18 and has been packed ever since. Would love menu advice from Chowhounders who have eaten at one of the two SF locations. We had our first meal there today. Wait was a reasonable 15 minutes but others who came after us were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour. We were advised to call ahead next time. The atmosphere was noisy but welcoming. Diners ranged from families w/ babies to 70-80 year old WomenWhoLunch. Portions were large; prices reasonable; service friendly and attentive. Chicken soup was hearty; grilled pork rib chops w/ yams, brussel sprouts, apples and pancetta were excellent; prosciutto, gruyere and roasted pepper stuffed foccacia ok. The attached produce market was a mini Berkeley Bowl; the meat counter offered Niman and Meyer cuts. I had never heard of Meyer--it is natural angus from Montana--no antibiotics or added hormones. Has anyone tried it?
