Chouchou: patisserie and bistro just opened in SF

svL | Oct 12, 2003 10:10 PM

The Barolo restaurant (Dewey and Laguna Honda) closed a few months ago. I drive by there fairly often and have observed feverish remodeling going on. Finally, about a week ago, Chouchou opened.

I stopped by a couple of days ago to pick up a menu. I did not eat there yet. It's run by three or four young and enthusiastic French people. Currently they are open for breakfast (starting at 7 am) and lunch but are planning to start dinners in about a month. They have traditional salads, sandwiches, quiches, paninis, tartines and pizzas. Prices are about $7 to $9 each. Also the usual coffee drinks and wine by the glass. Things look good.
