Chocolates Grulla "Gold" Alfajores | Ensenada

Melanie Wong | Feb 5, 202007:43 PM

Yesterday I dropped by La Flor de Calabaza https://www.chowhound.com/post/la-flo... to pick up some snacks and beverage provisions. The foil wrapper of Grulla chocolate-dipped alfajores caught my eye. Bought one for 55 pesos to try. Filled with a very thick layer of dulce de leche, the crumbly cookie part of the sandwich can hold its own too. Not sure that the dark chocolate adds that much. While I've not had a plain one yet, I suspect that I'd rather have three of them for the price of one chocolate-coated one.

Bonus: the package includes origami instructions for folding a crane.
