Chocolate Chip Cookie

No doubt this has been discussed before, but I'd like to get the current pulse of where Chowhounds go for their favorite chocolate chip cookie.

Whether it's old school basic chocolate chip, or fusion-y with added flavors, or with nuts, or whatever, as long as it is a chocolate chip cookie of some sort.

I think my current favorite might be Bakelab in Inglewood. It's this perfectly chewy cookie where the center is gooey, like being soft and al dente simultaneously, but the cookie itself has a nice crusty -- almost crunchy -- edge to it, so that if you have to think twice about biting into it if you've got loose dentures.

And what's also nice about it is that it's not too sweet. Oh sure, it's sweet in the sense that it's still a cookie and a dessert cookie at that. But it's not ickly sweet, like a Diddy Reese cookie. It's a nice restrained sweetness where you can actually taste the darn chocolate. Imagine that, a chocolate chip cookie where you can actually taste the chocolate.

What about you? Where do you go to get your favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie?
