Chengdu Style, a branch of the popular Berkeley original, opened in Davis a few months ago. Anyone tried it?
The review in the Aggie cracked me up. I guess the reviewer hurt herself on the spice and toothpicks in the toothpick lamb. Toothpick lamb is supposed to be very spicy, fatty, gristled, gamey, charred, and not that tender. All those things make it ultra delicious to me, but I guess it's not for everyone. I hope there's a market for authentic Sichuan flavors in Davis.
