I didn't expect anything spectacular from the high-end cheese cooler at Giant (and don't even mention the 'cheese for the masses' cooler). I was just looking for something edible for my wife's friends to visit.
But I bought a chunk of Cabot "Three Year Cheddar" at $9.99/lb, got it up to room temperature, and was thrilled. A real palate-filler from the initial bite, and nuances that took it well beyond the ordinary.
Just a suggestion ... give it a try.
