Looking for the best char siu pow in Chinatown

Phoenix | May 26, 2003 02:07 PM

I historically have been going to the Mix Bakery for fresh steamed roast pork buns to take home. I think they're called char siu pow, and they consist of roast pork in a slightly sweet sauce wrapped within a fluffy dough and then steamed. I've started to find the dough in the buns at the Mix Bakery to be a little on the sweet and dense side (I prefer them a little fluffier)...any good tips on other sources in Chinatown?

I've inquired in a few of the other bakeries and coffeeshops in the area, but most seem to offer only the baked variety.
