So I'm taking a friend of mine who has rarely eaten non-Chinese American Chinese food to eat...Chinese food. She just moved to LA a few months ago and I promised her I'd start taking her to the SGV to eat at different Chinese resetaurants whenever I'm in town. This time, out of the several options I offered to her (including hot pot and Taiwanese) she chose to try out Cha Chaan Tengs.
While I usually go to Tasty Garden (both Alhambra and MPK locations), I just wanted to see if there were others you might want recommend more. I'd probably steer her more into the Chinese side of the menu, albeit I do love "russian soup" so any place that does it decently get a nice little bump for consideration.
So basically my question is...should I stick to Tasty Garden? Or is it worth it to go to Baccali (haven't been there in a while), Younique (never been), JJ Cafe (ditto Baccali), or some other place that's newer that I might not know about? Thanks in advance!
(Note I'm driving her from her house near Hollywood which is why I didn't consider anything in ESGV)
