Celebration Dinner

Hi all! I am a long time reader and first time poster. I am looking for a restaurant to celebrate my graduation from NYU in May, and the last time my parent's will ever have to pay tuition! Clearly, a cause to celebrate. While I love food, I will not exactly be dining with "foodies," one of the eaters is somewhat picky, and the rest of us love good food but are not looking for anything overly high-brow, so we are not looking for a tasting menu. As for cuisine. anything goes, however I’d prefer to stick with Italian, American/New America, French, Fusion...but can be swayed otherwise! Around 20$-30$ entrees, and looking for some good wine! As this is a celebration dinner, there are no true limits. I love seafood and after living in Italy for some time, have a real appreciation for good home-made pasta. Looking for a really nice ambience, not overly trendy. Some places I am considering include: Nobu, Olana, DavidBurke&Donatella, Del Posto, Babbo, A Voce, Union Square Café, Del Frisco…HELP! Any suggestions Chowhounds!?
