Generally I try to steer clear of scouring other forums for suspicious cookware listings, but this one stood out as likely fraudulent. I'm curious what some of the real copper fans here on Chowhound have to say on the subject, but here's what struck me:

1) First, E. Dehillerin has never made copper cookware themselves. They generally source theirs from Mauviel. Further, I do not believe anything made in the early 1900s would have been stamped with "Made in France."

2) Second, the "tin" lining appears to be stainless steel or nickel. The concentric brushing marks are too uniform and the color too pale to be tin, let alone tin that was apparently applied most recently in 2015. The rivets look to be SS also.

I also suspect the caliper measurement is inaccurate, but I'll put that aside for now since there's no way to be certain.

Otherwise, I thought I'd mention that *many* of the copper pieces I see being sold on KKF are of dubious origin or value. There's one particular seller who stands out for offering pieces for extremely inflated prices.
