Restaurants & Bars 1

I don't think I've seen this place posted much on the board but after yet another wonderful meal, it deserves a mention. It's located in Winchester Center (8mi north of city) and the chef is a fellow who has credentials from various Boston locations- his wife is the maitre d'. It is a storefront restaurant devoted to seafood with a simple warm decor. The service is excellent. To the food: we started with very fresh oysters served with a ponzu (japanese citrus) sauce that was lovely ($2 per). Then a fresh tasty tuna tartar with a mango sauce and a mango chip on top. Next we enjoyed mussels with a chorizo based broth served with chewy bread that nicely held the remaining broth. The mixed green salad with goat cheese toast points was delightful. This was our appetizer meal (had been to a friends for cocktails earlier) but noticed that the entrees looked great (one meat offering). The dessert menu looked very interesting - fallen chocolate tart, citrus goat cheese tart, lemongrass & ginger tea- as did the artisanal cheese selections. They have a nice wine list to boot. They have tables and a 6 person bar that looks into the kitchen. Great place.
