What to do with my new cast iron terrine?

damiano | Jan 14, 201603:28 AM     2

So, a great deal came up on this Staub enameled cast iron black terrine. It was bought in Belgium but it is the same as this one http://www.amazon.com/Staub-Terrine-1...

Anyway, I've been looking at this recipe as my first adventure in terrines - http://www.raymondblanc.com/recipes/p...

But I've read that the terrine can also be used for other dishes. I'm thinking of using it as a cake tin for example. Will this work? I have a LC nonstick cake tin now, but will the Staub be better?

Other uses I've seen mentioned are lasagne and potato gratin. Does anyone else have good ideas on what I can do with my terrine? It would be a shame to only use this gorgeous vessel for a pate..

Here is the deal by the way - https://www.artencraft.be/fr/staub-re...
