Casa Romero - Mexican Back Bay - Mediocre

Wanted to like this place - its sexy alley location; colorfully painted walls. Went Sunday night and it was avergae. Service very slow - looked like one waiter for the entire front area. He never checked on us unless summoned; didn't tell us the specials until we ask and then offered nothing in the way of description. Literally, "Scallops" was one of the offers he mentioned.

Highpoints: salsa fresca; t.he aforementioned 'scallops' special; Perfect Margarita really was exceptionally good.
LOW: Rice and beans side could have come from taco bell. All plates 'garnished' with a hokey, sad slice of carrot. (Huh?)

Overall mediocre experience. Have not found good quality, slightly upscale Mexican in Boston. Years ago Sol Azteca was good, but have no idea how it is now
