We had an excellent meal last Friday night. The local review was quite accurate. For appetizers there were gulf shrimp roasted in a garlic butter sauce that made you grab for the bread to sop up every drop. Escargot in puff pastry were tender and wonderful. Also excellent was a wild mushroom gratin (mushrooms and leeks with gruyere). The salad which one of our party opted for was crisp mixed green and well dressed (not over dressed). My husband, who never orders chicken out, had a chicken stuffed with Virginia ham, topped with mozerella and marinara sauce (I thought it sounded ordinary, but he loved it...which is in itself pretty amazing, so I guess it wasn't ordinary). The rack of lamb in a rosemary demi-glace was unbelievable. Not over-powered by rosemary, cooked as rare as ordered, 6 tiny beautiful ribs. Desserts included a homemade raspberry cobbler (warm, and made in-house), topped with good vanilla ice cream. A really good meal (not inexpensive though).
