I went to Rock Sugar in Century City a couple of weeks ago. I found out it is owned by the same people as Cheesecake Factory. I will give a review later.
The most outstanding dish, was their Carmelized Banana Cake. I asked for the receipe but they wouldn't share. The bottom was a nice banana cake, then there was an equal size layer of like a frozen banana custard, semi-freddo something. Topped with a burnt sugar glaze like on creme brulee. I would love the receipe. Has anyone else eaten it, or have any ideas on what it is make from? The hard part is the top banana custard, the rest I could recreate. I would love it if anyone has any suggestions or idea or receipes. TIA
