Since our trip to Italy a few years ago Ray and I have been on a mission to find good gelato like we had everyday all over Italy. Well we had to lick alot of frogs-oops- I mean gelato to finally find our prince. From several states(U.S.) to as far as Ile De La Cite in France nothing came close to the taste of the gelato in Italy. Yesterday we had the great pleasure of coming the closest to what we experience in Italy without getting on a plane. Capogiro-119 S. 13th St.--215-351-0900-not only great gelato is dished out here but it comes with a generous spirit as well. After sampling 2 favors we were encourged to try more flavors-can't recommend any one flavor because they ALL were super. After we got our order I told them that Shola had sent us here after I told him of our quest. The young lady then went and got the owner Stephanie Reitano(who was in the middle of making the daily batches of gelato) to say thanks for coming in and to tell us about her new place. Talk about being the best you can--she told us that she didn't like the first batch of pistacchio so she did some research and found a better pistacchio with more flavor --cost $452.00 a kilo. I think that says it all! Thanks Shola for this great find.
