Cape May restaurants

Just returned from a weekend in Cape May, NJ. The first night we dined at the Water's Edge. The second night we ate at the Merion Inn.

The dinner at the Water's Edge may be the best dinner I've ever had anywhere. I fluctuate between seafood and beef, but my hubby always picks from the seafood. He sure didn't go wrong with picking the Sauteed Red Snapper for dinner! It was out of this world! I had the Filet Mignon, and it was nearly as good although it could have been cooked a little bit longer (for my tastes anyway). We agreed that we'd had the best appetizer we'd ever had in the Pablano Pepper with crab meat, onions, mushrooms, and some kind of cheese. It was absolutely to die for!!

The second night we dined at the Merion Inn - a historic place and very beautiful. I guess I must have been on a beef kick because once again I got the Filet Mignon this time topped with Roquefort cheese. It was very good - once again ordered at medium rare and could have been cooked a tad bit more. The hubby got Broiled Flounder. It was very tasty. For appetizer we had the obligatory spinach dip. It was tasty - I must say that the homemade pita/tortillas that came with it were outstanding.

Overall, our first trip together to Cape May was outstanding as far as eating was concerned. Next time we'll try some more restaurants.
