I was down at Kalustyan's yesterday, in the back of the store among the unknown ingredients, when I saw canned truffles -- a BIG can, like about 30 oz. or so. As for the price, 30 bucks for the black, and 35 for the white. Now, I'm used to truffles in teeny-tiny pieces, usually buried in rice with a big ticket on them, from France or Italy. These, however, are from the mid-East, and certainly down-priced. Has anyone had any experience with these cheapo truffles? And, for that matter, what do you do with a pound and a half of canned truffles? Share them? Freeze them? Any advice, greatly appreciated.
