Candy Cafe v Boba Jam for peanut coconut dry dumplings etc.

Foodie94 | Apr 8, 201305:33 AM

klyeoh's post today re Kaya toasts and Ipoh white coffee at Candy Cafe in London Chinatown - http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/897433 - reminded me to post about my trips last week to Candy Cafe and Boba Jam in an attempt to discover which had the best peanut coconut dry dumplings, balls of mochi unsurprisingly topped with peanut, coconut sugar. I prefer Candy Cafe's version because there's more topping, and I like Candy Cafe better overall because, being less convenient, it's quieter. It's also a fraction of the size of Boba Jam, which expanded last year to add a sit-down cafe to its bubble tea servery. I prefer the cold desserts at Candy Cafe too, like their version of pomelo mango - it had more mango and less ice than Boba Jam's.

I'm a bubble tea/Chinese dessert fan and not an expert - how do other people rate Candy Cafe v Boba Jam?
