I am looking for recommendations re: vintage port. My husband's 30th birthday is coming up, and I thought it might be interesting to get him a bottle of port that is as old as he is. This is basically an excuse to purchase and taste a much more luxurious bottle of wine than we usually have, and I want to make sure that I make the most of it! Has anyone out there tried a vintage port from 1975? (1977 seems to be a more readily available--better?--year). What about a non-vintage, 30-year old port? (For example, I'm considering a bottle of Taylor Fladgate 30-year tawny, conveniently available at my local wine shop).
Thanks, and cheers!
