Cake pan vs tube pan

ziggylu | Dec 7, 200703:07 PM

I should know the answer to this, but don't. I'm sure someone here does though. :-)

I had picked up some vanilla bean infused olive oil yesterday and wanted to use it to make a cake. Looked over a few recipes and decided to make the one in Marcella Hazan's Essentials book.

it's cooling right now and somehow I've just realized I spaced out an used the wrong pan. I had 9" cake pan in my head. Must have been from another recipe that had caught my eye. This one called for a tube pan. fortunately I caught my mistake before I overbaked it(tube pan called for 50 minutes but this was done in half the time in the cake pan).

I'm thinking it's going to be heavier than it should have been?
