Haven't had as much time in the evening to post as I'd thought I would this trip. But before too much time goes by, I gotta give a shout out for the cafe sua da (Vietnamese style iced coffee) at Le's Sandwiches and Cafe. The owner warned me that it was strong, and he delivered on that promise. Thick and almost syrupy with the richness and depth of flavor to match, very smooth and round with just a kick of bitterness (chicory?) in the end, perfect balance for me of sweetened condensed milk:coffee:ice. It took a little while for it to be served up, so I suspect that it is brewed to order, as it should be. My friend tasted cafe sua da for the first time and agreed with me that it tastes like everything that coffee ice cream should be, but too often is not.
