Cafe Polonia Still Solid

rlh | Mar 20, 2008 02:57 PM

Stopped in to Cafe Polonia for lunch today after a productive kielbasa mission to Euromart (the meat counter was mobbed for the holiday weekend and moving VERY slowly, but enjoyable to get advice on which of the many kielbasi to select).

CP had a soup du jour of Easter Soup (Jurek?) that was amazing - kielbasa, bacon, herbs, fresh garlic, with hard boiled eggs on the bottom - wow. It was $6 or $8 for a generous cup.

The mixed boiled pierogies were as good as always, but seem pretty steep at $12 for 8 (2 of which were meat filled), no other side, and a very stingy little cup of sour cream.

With sodas and tip, lunch for 2 was $50 - it is not cheap eats, but really comforting and delicious. The service was as warm and friendly as ever.
