Hi all, I've seen this tin-lined copper sauce pan for sale on a local craigslist-like site. It's marked 'made in france', 24cm diameter, 12cm high, 3mm copper supposedly, 4 kilograms heavy.
It has been retinned once in its 18 years of existence, and the seller says it doesn't need retinning. However, the pictures show a somewhat dirty looking interior with visible shadows where liquids were.
I only have experience with stainless steel lining, so is this pan good to go? Is there a need for retinning? At 75 euro it's a lot cheaper than a new one (and thicker too) so it's an alluring deal imho. I plan to use it as a dutch oven for stews and braises. Thanks!
