Burgers in Sacramento

Sacramento seems to have a plethora of old-school burger places, and I'm going to try to make my way to the best of them. My first stop was Willie's (on Broadway), which got written up this summer in the NY Times and specializes in a chili burger called the Slammer -- inspired by Tommy's burgers in LA. I'm not actually that big on chili burgers but this one was good... nice amount of chili, good fresh bun. The patty itself was pretty small and didn't have a lot of grilled flavor, but the chili made up for it. We also tried the chili cheese fries (just OK -- overkill on the chili) and the milkshake (great, super-thick chocolate shake). A convenient quick stop before a movie at the Tower theater or a trip to Tower Records.

Also on my list to visit are
-The Squeeze Inn
- Nationwide Freezer Meats
- Cookies'
- Burger Junction
- Ford's

Anyone have a vote for Sacramento's best burger?
