Buffalo Club

Decided to take my wife out for an "adult" dinner on Friday. My thanks to her for being a great mom, and not having to put up with the teenage angst during dinner. Besides, he was home with three other teenage boys playing online video games and was as happy as a pig in....well in his sty anyway.

I had been meaning to try this place for sometime, just never got around to it. In an unmarked, run down looking on the outside building between 14 and 15th streets on Olympic Blvd.

We had a very early, 6:30, reservation. We were the first ones through the door, and because it was so light out, and this place is so dark, when I went through the front door I had to come to dead stop due to not being able to see a freaking thing. Luckily, the hostess who I had stumbled right by in my blindness, called us back.

First of all I will say I love places like this. The music was mostly Sinatra, with a little Bobby Darren and Dean Martin thrown in. I felt like part of the Rat Pack. The chairs are really comfortable, which is an issue for me being a (literally) "big dog".

The food is manly stuff. I had a NY steak with fries and two roasted tomatoes stuffed with spinach and topped with parmesean chees, and my wife had a salmon coated with peppercorns. Both were quite good. My wife's Caesar salad was really excellent, she wouldn't even give me a bite. I tried a dim sum kind of appetizer, lobster and shrimp pot stickers. Not cheap. Bill came to $138, plus tip with two before dinner drinks, one glass of wine and two coffees. No dessert. But we will most certainly go back again.
