Brunch at Tart

torta basilica | May 8, 200611:38 AM

Lots of threads on this, but... my 2 cents. Darling space - booths on the patio are great. We had great service - super-friendly waiters/waitresses. Daughter had Tart breakfast - 3 Eggs any way, apple chicken sausage & we all were served a great fresh fruit salad - watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries & blackberries. Each plate came with a grilled tomato (boring) & bird's nest potatoes, which were crunchy & good. Brother had crab cake benedict, which he loved. I had the egg & pancetta tart with citrus hollandaise - basically 2 large layers of puff pastry with scrambled eggs with plenty of pancetta & a very light hollandaise - only complaint is that the hollandaise was so good, I could have used more, as this dish was huge! With 2 ice teas came to $42 w/ tax. After seeing lines for Doughboys & Toast, it was nice to just cruise in here & have a relaxing, non-sitting on top of other people brunch on an outside patio without cars roaring by.
