Browning Chicken Problem

Hello. I can't quite figure what I'm doing right or wrong here, but sometimes when I brown chicken parts for a recipe, they turn out golden and great looking, and sometimes the pieces stick, and all the skin falls off into the pan.

Just this past week -- I started with a hot cast-iron an, added oil, then chicken parts, and the skin came off and made a big mess.

Any advice on how to be more consistent in my browning?
