Hi, new here. I am remembering my old school days when we all used to go to some local places and have fries and gravy for lunch. I would do anything to experience that taste again. What I am looking for is a good plate of fries that are not too dark but cooked well, soggy on the inside and crisp outside. The gravy should not be transparent, it should be thick and light brown. I don't like the dark brown goopy stuff. Too concentrated and salty.
It just seems like nobody makes gravy like I had in the 1980's. There were 2 exceptional places where I had this fantastic gravy, both in Streetsville Ontario. One was Terry's Burger House, and the other was Wings Chinese Restaurant. The absolute best gravy in the world, and trust me when I tell you, I have had many, many plates from all over the place in my life.
