I dined last night at Bouley for the first time since September 11, and I fell in love all over again with David Bouley. His cooking is superb! The service and decor are wonderful! George took great care of my sister and me; we asked for a wine recommendation for a half bottle, and he suggested a modestly-priced Pouilly Fume and it was perfect with our main course of lobster and salmon. We had complimentary extra courses for appetizers and dessert. We had complimentary glasses of champagne. Now that David is back in charge whatever weaknesses in the service are gone. The former bakery area has been transformed into a beautiful room (I prefer it to the main larger room). We had the best seared foie gras ever! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation; you'll be happy you did.
